A total of 120 children have received the sacrament of confirmation from Holy Cross Parish in the Archdiocese of Gulu.
The archbishop of Gulu, Raphael P'Mony Wokorach, who was the main celebrant during the mass, asked the Christians to support the children as they grow in their faith.
“Let us embrace faith and stand to hold it firm not to let it fall off our hands. So, we also need to help these children who received the Sacrament of confirmation today, so that they do not stray or be lazy and remember that the church is the one that has brought them this far. Love the church and get into church groups so as to help you grow in faith,” the prelate remarked.
One of the confirmed children's parents, Perina Lanek advised all parents to stand firm in their faith to strengthen their children's faith.
“Children follow our faith as parents, if you as a parent has a weak faith, you will waste your child’s life, so we should be firm so as these children will be firm in their faith,” she said.
The Holy Cross Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. David Okello Opiro, encouraged the children to be good people.
“Firstly, be good children, be children who love God, children who love their neighbors and the ones who love the church,” he emphasized.
This first confirmation ceremony saw the Archbishop's First visit to the Parish, where he confirmed 49 boys and 71 Girls.
