Unknown people have strangled to death a businesswoman in Zombo district.
The deceased has been identified by security authorities as 46 year old Isa Amina, a resident of Warr Center village, Zombo district.
Her corpse was discovered by area residents from a cassava plantation along Warr-Pamodo road in Leo Leo village Warr town council.
Available information shows that she was attacked by unknown assailants at around 8pm on Monday evening on her way from a friend’s burial.
“We got this tragic information of the murder of this woman. What we have is that she was murdered by some people who are believed to be trailing her for some time now and they took advantage and strangled her to death when they met her. Postmortem reports are pointing to death by strangulation. And yes I don’t know why people are still moving at night when there is a curfew which starts at 7pm. We need to enforce the implementation of this curfew time and I think it will help us”, said Julius Masendi, the deputy OC CID Paidha Police station.
The LC3 chairperson Warr town council George Bidong describes the incident as unfortunate and cautions area residents against unnecessary movements.
"This incident is regrettable but one thing that we need to do is to avoid this unnecessary movement especially at night. We have got reliable information that she was being trailed by some people, so we are going to work together with the Police officers to forge a way how we can bring the perpetrators to book. But above all the presidential directives are still in place. The curfew is still on. We really appeal to all of you to respect these directives because I know they will help you somewhere”, he said.
This brings the number to 6, of business people who have been murdered following a spate of killings after two women and three men, all business people in the area were murdered in a similar manner.
