Christians of Moyo vicariate have been called to send their children for priesthood vocation in order to increase the number of priests in Arua diocese. This came during the requiem mass for the funeral service of late reverend Fr. George Izatirale the former curate of Moyo catholic parish.
Moriku Joyce Kaduchu the state minister for primary education who doubles as the woman Member of Parliament for Moyo district noted that parents play a great role in nurturing children in terms of good morals that inspire them to join priesthood vocation.
“As parents we all do play a very critical role in nurturing our children in terms of providing good values, discipline and spiritual growth which is a key foundation that can inspire our children to God’s call to priesthood. The late father George followed the footsteps of Jesus Christ who called him into the priesthood vocation emphasizing not only academic excellence but also moral behavior and spiritual development he ensured that the students grow in to responsible citizens of this country. This is the attribute of vocation to the priesthood and may the legacy of Fr George bring more vocation to the priesthood life most especially in Madi sub-region and the entire West Nile diocese,” shared Moriku.
Meanwhile Monsignor Elizeo Ovure the vicar Moyo vicariate and parish priest Moyo catholic parish urged everyone to endorse their children to join the seminary.
“The diocese advocates to bring the services pastorally and spiritually to the people of God in Arua diocese closer by opening parishes and opening parishes demand the availability of priests this is the time we need priests and it is your responsibility as Christian to send the children to the seminary so that we continue to achieve this initiative,” emphasized Ovure
However the right reverend Sabino Ochan Odoki the ordinary of Arua diocese encouraged the young ones to become priests like the late Fr George and he also appealed to the couple in the family to name their children after the late Fr George in remembrance of his name.
“It’s all about vocation among the young ones they can join the seminary to become priests like late Fr George if you know he had a lot let the young ones in the family follow his foot steeps and become priests then continue with the work and I equally appeal to the young couple in the family to produce, give birth to boy child and name them George to remember late Fr. George his name,” noted the bishop.
