While closing the 2024/25 Quarterly District Health Performance Review and Improvement Meeting on Thursday May 29, 2025, at the District Health Office Resource Center, the assistant Deputy Resident District Commissioner of Moyo urged health workers to uphold professionalism and integrity in delivering services at their respective duty stations, as they are saving lives in the community.
Julius Nyerere, the Assistant Deputy RDC Moyo, said the government has done a lot to improve the welfare of health centers, with more support expected in the next financial year.
“As the Government of Uganda, you are aware that we have deployed you to these various health centers to deliver quality services to our people,” he noted.
Julius added that the government has heavily invested in health infrastructure.
“What we require from you is professionalism and integrity in your service,” he emphasized.
Madrara Bosco, the Principal Human Resource Officer in the CAO’s office, urged health workers to address the issue of late coming.
“Let’s minimize late coming and report for duty on time so that we can deliver quality services to the community,” Bosco said.
He added that time management is critical in health service delivery because lives depend on it.
Regarding critical sickness cases in the community, the Assistant DHO in charge of Maternal and Child Health, Adrawa Michael, urged health in-charges to work with community leaders during referrals.
“Let’s make use of other stakeholders. The baby is not the responsibility of the mother alone; the father is also responsible. We also have community leaders like LC1s and parish chiefs—let’s engage them, not just for monitoring PDM activities,” the DHO noted.
Dr. Patricia Pirio, Medical Advisor at Pipeline Worldwide, said the Nile region is in line to receive more drugs.
