Kajo-Keji Health Training Institute has awarded more than 140 students with Diploma and Certificate honors. This is the second graduation held at the institute after relocating to Arua from the war-tone South Sudan after being attacked in the past by suspected militia.
The Director of Professional Training in the Ministry of health South Sudan Rev. Dr. Janet Michael confirmed the graduates. “After graduating, we need your services back home to improve on the health care services in South Sudan. Your profession is a calling and you should prioritize rendering services to the patients as opposed to getting paid before giving services.” Rev. Dr. Janet said.
Rev. Dr. Janet also asked the Kajo-Keji health training institute to focus more on training Nurses and midwives as the clinicians in South Sudan have outnumbered the Nurses. “We need more Nurses and Midwives in the health sector in South Sudan. Since they take the main burden in service delivery, their number needs to increase. “
The director of the Institution Mr. Lou Louis Koboji called upon the graduates to use the skills they have acquired to help in improving the health services in South Sudan. “The first gift we have given you is the new knowledge that you will use to treat the sick, the second one is the skills and the third we have shaped your attitude to a better medical person to help you while doing your work. Humility is very important as your profession is a calling from God.” Mr. Lou also appreciated all the donors who have put resources together to ensure that the students are skilled.
The principal of the institution Emmanuel Ondoga advised the graduates still to upgrade as the world is so competitive. “We need to be creative and innovative to get the jobs. As you prepare to work, put the lives of the patients first.” Ondoga said.
One of the graduates Tuaisi Simon, thanked the institution of ensuring that they continued with their studies while observing the measures against covid 19. He also commended the tutors being so hardworking during his time in the institution.
Kajo-Keji Health Training Institute is a Nonprofit Nongovernmental Organisation aimed at improving the health services in South Sudan.
