Authorities of Aluru sub-county local government in Moyo district have accused a health worker at Lama Health center III of allegedly absconding duty without proper information thus creating service delivery gap at the facility.
It is reported that, on May 10, 2025 a staff whose name could not be established by press time deliberately declined to attend to the patients as he was busy in a nearby garden at the facility digging, as explained by the local council 3 chairman of Aluru sub-county Oduti Francis Aulogo. “I got the man in the garden around the facility, we even exchanged bitter words with him, and I advised him to change his character.”
Ezatiru Emmanuela who represented the in-charge of lama health center III acknowledged cases of staff absenteeism saying they have emphasized this in their internal staff meetings but it still persists. “I requested that as we have procedures in our facility, there should be a sanction committee so that whenever indiscipline cases ocuur, the committee can sit and sanction the person.”
Relatedly, Abiri Caesar the area counselor of lea parish in Aluru sub-county asked the community to follow the right procedures while reporting such kind of cases to the top management for consideration. “Not everyone is in the same line but there are others in the facility who are good in terms of giving services to the people.”
