Christians of Arua diocese have been called to sacrifice their lives to Christ by per-taking his body and blood for eternal life.
Anyanda Henry a Christian at Moyo mission expressed the importance of receiving the Holy Communion, “It is very important in Christian faith to always take the body and blood of Jesus because when taking the body of Christ, you feel Christ is in you and this is why it has kept me up to now faithful in to the catholic church,” said Anyanda.
Similarly Nyerima Kevin, a catechist at Maduga chapel gives the merits of the holy Eucharist to the children that it transforms their moral behavior. “Receiving of the holy communion especially in the life of the children, Jesus said that let the children come to me. Do not stop them meaning that Jesus has already sacrificed himself not only for the adults but also the children,” Nyerima expressed.
Meanwhile Andama David the parish priest Obongi catholic parish called upon the Christians to be serious in partaking the Holy Communion.
“Holy Communion is a spiritual food that nourishes the body and soul more so it is very important that I call upon all my Christians in Obongi parish to partake it. Jesus giving his body for us when we take his body and blood, we become part of him, and we are re-strengthened.” Andama Stretched.
However right reverend bishop Sabino Ocan Odoki the bishop ordinary of Arua diocese emphasizes that taking the body and blood of Christ prepares Christians for eternal life.
“The issue of the Holy Communion is serious. It is something you should all be passionate about because it helps us and prepares us for eternal life. Sometimes people call themselves the sinners when they see a priest coming, they say for me my sin is too much. They keep away, what a loss? Those are opportunities that could help you rise up because God is always faithful and Lord Jesus Christ promised whoever eats my body and drinks my blood will have eternal life,” bishop emphasized
