West Nile’s iconic Uganda premier league team Onduparaka football club is fighting for its future in the league next season following its current position on the Uganda premier league table after losing several matches both at home and away this season.
Recently, the funs of onduparaka started growing expectations of success in the matches of the team after federation of Uganda football association (FUFA) finally lifted the ban on the home games of the club after an indiscipline case that happened at Green light stadium.
But this has not changed anything as the club continues to concede defeats at home with the latest been their one nil defeat by BUL football club in the Uganda cup played on Wednesday 15th March 2023.

Osutaru Juliet, one of the funs of the club, blames the management of the club for lack of support to them as fans who continue supporting the club amidst all its weaknesses. “we are almost dropping to support Onduparaka because of the leaders, the way they mistreat fans, like these fans need something like jerseys, moreover these things come but they don’t give them out to the fans they just leave the fans like that. We support Onduparaka with all our hearts but we don’t know what is wrong” she cried out.

But Hassan Anyim, the chairperson of the fans association of Onduparaka attributes the poor performance of the club to the ban imposed on the club and wrong officiation in most of the matches they played. Hassan was quoted as explaining, “I think one of the reason for the poor performance was the ban that was put on the club by FUFA and this also affected the club greatly. You know playing games outside without the funs who are the 12th player in a game is not easy normally, also in most games we played outside we have found ourselves on wrong officiation which greatly affected us”.
Rashid Yakim, the team captain of onduparaka said “at first when we were playing the games, they deducted our points, we were struggling that day, but per now we are struggling to push things harder and harder such that we remain in the game”.

Similarly, Drabe Godfrey, the public relations officer of the club pledges to draw the fans back to the club as they plan to unveil their new jersey for the fans. “we started poorly because guys started their games away from home and then when we came back, guys started picking up very well we have so far won 2 games out of 4 games played, we want the fans to come back as we plan to unveil our new jersey to the fans, so let us support our team regardless of the outcome of the results of the games”, he begged.
Currently, onduparaka football club is in the last position on the Uganda premier league table with only 10 points.
