The OPM grounds in Arua City was painted green as Radio Pacis hosted its "Go Green Kids Festival", drawing an impressive crowd of more than 1,000 children.
The colorful festival, designed to promote environmental awareness among young people, featured a wide variety of activities ranging from face painting and tug of war to interactive games and creative performances.
The energy, laughter, and joy shared by the children created a vibrant atmosphere that underscored the power of uniting fun with environmental education.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Silver Pariyo, the Go Green Coordinator and Marketing Manager of Radio Pacis, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders who made the festival a success. He highlighted the importance of collaboration in nurturing environmentally conscious future generations. “This festival is not just about games and fun; it is about planting seeds of responsibility in the hearts of children. By engaging them in activities that connect joy with nature, we are raising a generation that will value conservation, sustainability, and community participation,” said Mr. Pariyo.
Parents also praised the initiative, noting its lasting impact on children’s understanding of the environment. Mr. Emvi Christopher, a parent who was at the event, escribed the festival as a model worth emulating across the country. “Already this festival has portrayed a very good example for children in conserving the environment. What they have seen and learned here will remain in their minds and guide them as they grow into responsible citizens,” remarked Christopher.
The children themselves shared their excitement and newfound lessons. Many said the activities helped them better understand the importance of taking care of the earth. One of the young participants, with a smile full of hope, expressed the essence of the event. “Go Green concept help us foster a lifelong commitment to protecting the environment. We learn about big issues like climate change and the need to save resources, but in a way that is fun and easy to understand. This makes us want to be part of the solutions that our world needs.”
The Radio Pacis Go Green Kids Festival thus stood as more than just a fun day for children—it became a platform for shaping the next generation of environmental stewards.
With such impactful programs, Radio Pacis continues to inspire the region with its commitment to sustainable growth and community-driven change.
