The site for the expansion of an OPD Ward at Anyeke Health Centre IV at the tune of 420 million shillings in Oyam District has been handed over to UPDF Engineering brigade.
Benson Dilla, the LC5 chairperson of Oyam District local government at the site handover ceremony urged the UPDF engineering team to do quality work and he also cautioned them against falling into love affairs with married Women and underaged girls as they carry on with their work in the district. "Please my dear officers, make sure you do for us quality work, sub-standard work we shall not tolerate; I also ask you to desist from falling in love affairs with married women and young girls during your time here", he remarked.
Similarly, Robert Owiny, the Oyam district Senior engineer appealed to the UPDF Engineering brigade to consider quality work and timely completion of the work. He also asked the team to cooperate with the district engineering department for the success of the construction project.
on the other hand, William Komakech, the Resident district commissioner of Oyam asked UPDF engineering brigade to recruit local people to do some of the casual works at the site to create good work relationship with the community. "my dear officers do not start bringing people from the other regions to come and do the casual works here, you recruit the local people around here to the work, I ask to stay well with them, don’t mistreat them", he echoed.
Caroline Agaro, the Oyam acting district health officer appreciated the district leadership for considering the expansion of Anyeke health centre IV saying the facility currently lacks enough space for accommodating patients and the staff are also grappling with the same challenge.
