St. Peter's Urugbo Chapel in Ediofe parish is embarking on an ambitious project to construct a new church, seeking financial support of over 317 million Ugandan shillings. The current church structure is in a deplorable state, with leaks during rainy seasons, prompting the Christians to come together and initiate the construction of a new one.
According to Wekninga Alice, the project chairperson, the current church has outlived its lifespan, and it's time for a new, modern, and safe place of worship. "Our current church is in a very bad state," Alice said. "We can't continue to worship in a building that's leaking and prone to damage. We need a new church that will serve us for generations to come."
The project has already seen some progress, thanks to the cooperation of the Christians. Adriko Stephen Uru, the finance, planning, and development chairman, expressed gratitude to the congregation for their support.
Entia Alice, one of the Christians, expressed her excitement about the project. "I'm thrilled to see our church taking shape," she said. "I urge my fellow Christians to contribute wholeheartedly to this project. She stressed.
The construction of the new church is a testament to the determination and commitment of the St. Peter's Urugbo Chapel community.
With the financial support of well-wishers and the cooperation of the Christians, the project is set to become a reality, providing a safe and modern place of worship for generations to come.
