The Police in Arua city have taken swift action in response to the violent incidents that marred the Arua City post-primary school netball and athletics competitions at Barifa stadium.
The chaos led to an unspecified number of students being apprehended in connection with the same.
The unfortunate incident is said to have erupted among students of St. Joseph's College Ombaci, Mvara and Arua Public Secondary Schools, where several members of the lost properties and others sustained injuries.
Police Investigation
Superintendent of Police Collins Asea, the West Nile police spokesperson, confirmed that the arrested students will assist in the ongoing investigation.
"Our 99 UP-7697 vehicle window was smashed by students, and so far, they have injured one officer who is currently receiving treatment at our facility," Asea stated.
"We have arrested some students who will help us in the investigation, he added"
Consequences
Once the probe is complete, the students will be taken to court to face charges.
Asea emphasized that the police are determined to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
Warning to Students and School Administrators
Asea issued a stern warning to both students and school administrators, urging them to maintain discipline during co-curricular activities.
"Schools involved in such unruly behavior will face severe consequences, including a complete ban from participating in sporting activities," he cautioned.
