Police in Ayivu west are investigating a fatal accident in which an 18 year old resident of Mite cell Yivu ward in Ayivu Division West in Arua city perished after being crushed by a vehicle bearing a DR Congo number plate at Onduparakara trading center on Sunday September 7, 2025.
The deceased Candia Vincent a boda boda rider who was allegedly heading home from Onduaparaka trading center carrying a passenger met his death at around 6pm.
West Nile Region police public relations officer, SP. Anguyo Jimmy Baiga confirmed the incidence noting that investigations are under way. “There was one fatality in Onduparaka yesterday where one person died and is called Vincent a resident of Yivu ward, a case was registered at Onduparaka police station driver is at large, efforts are underway to arrest him for investigations, we urge that as you are walking be aware that anything can happened to you and take charge of yourself,” SP.Anguyo confirmed.
By press time, the driver of the vehicle was still at large after fleeing the scene.
But Moses Avutia the uncle to the deceased revealed that as a family they are willing to sit and harmonize with the owner of the vehicle to arrange for the burial of the deceased. “This incident happened there he died instantly, the issue is now in the hands of the police and we are ready to sit with the owner of the vehicle for arrangement of the burial,” Avutia said.
Currently a case of traffic accident has been registered at Ayivu West division Police Station under SD REF: TAR 142/2025.
