A horrific murder has rocked Uderu Village, Pachara Sub-County, Adjumani District, where 22-year-old boda boda rider Anyovi Stephen, alias Igo, was found dead on June 29, 2025.
The incident, logged under ADJ CRB No: 450/2025, was reported at 10:40 hrs, with the crime believed to have occurred during the night.
According to police reports, unidentified passengers hired Stephen, a Madi tribesman and rider at Adjumani Club, to ferry them to an undisclosed location on his motorcycle, registration details unknown.
Enroute, the passengers allegedly turned on him, overpowering and assaulting him.
SP Collins Asea, the North and West Nile regional police spokesperson confirmed the harrowing incident in a statement, noting the assailants reportedly “bound his hands behind his back, tied his legs, and fatally strangled him with a rope before dumping his body in a bush near Minia Stream, Rassia East Village”
Asea said Scene of Crime Officers and detectives from Adjumani Central Police Station attended the scene, documenting evidence and initiating investigations.
The victim’s body was recovered and transported to Adjumani General Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Police are actively pursuing the unknown maniacs and seeking to recover any related exhibits.
