The Uganda Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027 has invited qualified Ugandan businesses to register for pre-qualification as suppliers of goods and services ahead of the tournament.
Speaking on behalf of the LOC, Chairperson Dr. Dennis K. Mugimba said the exercise is intended to build a database of prospective suppliers that will be eligible to participate in competitive bidding for AFCON-related contracts.
Mugimba recalled that on May 18, 2026, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) issued a Request for Information (RFI) inviting potential service providers from across Africa to express interest in joining CAF’s supplier database in preparation for AFCON 2027 procurement.
He said CAF is expected to begin issuing public Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from the first week of August 2026, urging interested firms to regularly monitor CAF’s official website and the Uganda LOC website for updates.
At the national level, the Uganda LOC also launched its own Request for Information in early July 2026 to identify businesses capable of supplying goods and services for activities under its mandate during the tournament.
The registration exercise is scheduled to close at the end of July, although the LOC says it reserves the right to extend the deadline if necessary.
The committee emphasized that registration for pre-qualification is free of charge and that interested businesses should submit their applications through the LOC’s online supplier registration portal.
According to the LOC, procurement opportunities will cover a wide range of sectors, including hospitality, catering, transport and logistics, information and communication technology (ICT), media and communications, digital engagement, branding, medical services, safety and security, event management, consultancy, documentary production, fan park management, souvenir production, office supplies, and other related services.
To qualify for pre-qualification, applicants must be legally registered in Uganda, registered with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA), financially sound, tax compliant, and have no record of litigation or non-performance.
The LOC noted that only firms that successfully complete the pre-qualification process will be invited to submit proposals when procurement officially begins between September and October 2026.
Mugimba said the procurement process will be conducted in accordance with CAF’s Procurement Policy and Uganda’s obligations under the AFCON PAMOJA 2027 Host Agreement.
He also clarified that some tournament services, including ticketing, television production and broadcasting, will be procured directly by CAF through a single supplier covering all three host nations under the PAMOJA arrangement.
Additionally, he noted that the LOC will not procure goods and services on behalf of other government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), explaining that each institution will independently manage procurement for activities falling under its respective mandate.
