In a disturbing trend, youths residing in the neighborhood of Pokea Primary School, situated in Pokea ward, Ayivu Division, Arua City, have been put on notice for their destructive acts of vandalism against school properties.
A recent inspection of the school premises by our radio Pacis revealed a trail of destruction, with crushed windows, ravaged doors, and stolen water taps.
Concerned parents have issued a clarion call for collective action to stem this vice.
Arumadri Ronald, a vigilant parent, stressed the imperative of a multi-stakeholder approach to curb this vice. "It is high time we synergized our efforts to halt this malicious robbery of school property," he declared.
Gilbert Banduga, another worried parent, echoed similar sentiments, underscoring the need to nurture and support the school rather than propagating its destruction. "Instead of doing acts of vandalism, we should channel our energies towards supplementing the school's infrastructure and resources," he urged.
Regrettably, attempts to solicit comments from the school administration proved futile at the time of compiling this report.
This incident underscores the pressing need for enhanced vigilance and community engagement in safeguarding public facilities.
Parents, educators, and local leaders must unite to instill a sense of ownership and accountability among the youth, thereby ensuring that Pokea Primary School remains a stronghold of learning and growth.
