The police in North West Nile is investigating the cause of a serious accident that turned fatal on Wednesday 13/05/2026.
The accident occurred at Ubbi Village, Ubbi Parish, Laropi Sub-County, Moyo District involving Motor Vehicle Involved: UBN 756P, Fuso Fighter, White Color driven by one identified as Okello.
According to SP ASEA COLLINS, the police PRO for North West Nile Region, It is alleged that on 12/05/2026, at approximately 23:00 hours, the driver of the motor vehicle registration UBH 756P, Okello, accompanied by colleagues, departed from Anaka Town Council heading towards Yumbe District, transporting coffee seedlings.
After crossing the ferry, the driver decided to rest in Moyo Town and continue the journey to Yumbe yesterday in the morning and upon reaching Ubbi Hill, the vehicle encountered mechanical problem where the brakes failed, and due to the load, it rolled back uncontrollably and fell to one side, causing injuries to the driver and passengers with one victim only identified as Andrew tragically dying while enroute to Moyo Hospital while the Injured victims were admitted at the same facility for treatment.
The Victims have been identified as: Okello Bernard, Onen Innocent, Okello (the Driver) Nyeko Grivin, Rubangakene Patrick, Ceaser, Omona Patrick and Oloya Denish
