The police at Arua central police station are investigating a defilement case that involves a 16 year old juvenile and a 50 year old business woman that occurred on Sunday morning at around 1:00 am along Onzivu Street.
According to the father of the victim, the victim reported back to school on Sunday evening after clearing his school fees of shs 800,000, he was sent back home by the school administration because of some missing requirements, the victim instead of going home branched to watch a football match between Manchester united and Manchester city that was played on Sunday around 06:30pm.
After the match, the victim met with the suspect leading to a sexual intercourse between the two, the suspect claimed that the victim stole her money mobilizing her colleagues and nearby boda boda riders to beat him up and was taken to the father at home in the morning.
However, the victim’s father upon interrogating him, confirmed that he was lured by the suspect into having sexual intercourse leading to her arrest by concerned women and local council one of the area.
“what has happened has actually shocked me so much, yesterday I sent my young boy to school, I was very surprised today this morning at around 1am to 2am. She lured him into having sex with her, she then asked for five thousand shillings which is the only money he was having then he gave it to her and walked out. This is actually what happened. The LC’s have done their part to transfer the whole matter to police. Right now I am here to see whether the case shall be handled,” he said.
The suspect was matched to Arua central police station by the team of LC, who said the law will take its course noting that this is a rare case that has happened in the region.
“The boy went and reported to school but because of some requirements he was sent home and he did not reach home that’s where the problem was, so the advice I give to teachers, school administrators is that when these children lack some requirements, you better call the parents of such children direct and they get to pay whatever is required of them direct,” he urged.
A case of aggravated defilement was opened against the suspect at Arua central police station to apprehend the culprit.
Anguyo cautioned the parents and school administrators to have a good communication channel to avoid such unhealthy acts among the learners in future.
