Speaking to the media during the SACCO’s Annual General Meeting, the Board Secretary, Brian Ngaka, supposed the cooperative is now projected to reach 545 million shillings in 2026, after exceeding its 2025 target by 122.2 percent.
“Our targets for the year ended 31st December 2025 was to hit a target of about 350million shillings and our reports indicated we surpassed it with 64million shillings and so this year we have projections of up to 545million shillings and we are very optimistic we are going to beat that hands down,” Ngaka revealed.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chairperson of Ama Tualu Savings and Credit Cooperative Society, Annet Olema, attested that the SACCO’s continued growth is already driving positive social transformation, in line with the government’s vision of economic empowerment.
“we were very few members but we have grown to a total of 127 and this is how we want our society to bloom already we have a lot of testimonies from members, others have gone into poultry, others have even constructed houses, we need to kick poverty out of Arua and we cannot do this as individual,” Olema referred.
Conversely, the Acting Principal Commercial Officer for Arua City, Jobel Ayiko, cautioned cooperative members to strictly adhere to the existing laws and regulations if they are to sustain the initiative and achieve long-term success.
“The business we are in is a business which is unique, there are so many laws up to the national level they must be followed, we can grow big when you do right things right, the challenge with corporative is basically mindset,” Jobel guided.
