Moyo District Sports Officer, Edema Wilson, has encouraged students to embrace football and other extra co-curricular activities, emphasizing their importance in promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline.
He noted that sports particularly football play a vital role in shaping well-rounded and responsible individuals, urging students to actively participate in games alongside their academic pursuits. “Football is more than just a game; it builds unity, character, and resilience — qualities that are essential both in school and beyond,” said Edema.
Meanwhile, the Head Teacher, Magama Benedetta Paradio, attributed the school’s consistent success to its strategic focus on balancing academics with sports. She noted that this balance has greatly contributed to student excellence and the school’s overall development. “Our priority has always been to provide a platform where students excel not only in the classroom but also on the field,” Magama stated.
The Vice Chairperson LC1 of Elenderea Ward, Ageri Timothy, who officially opened the event, praised the strong coexistence between the school and the surrounding community. He described this partnership as a key factor in the school’s continued growth and support system.
The event also featured the official swearing-in of newly elected prefects and the awarding of trophies to outstanding sports teams. The celebration served as both a recognition of achievement and a motivation for continued excellence in leadership and athletics.
