A fatal motor accidents in Arua city on the morning of Thursday October 16, 2025 involving a Nile star bus with registration number UBF 182W heading to Arua town from Kampala left one person dead and other nursing injuries at Arua Radiology center.
The accident which occurred between Awindiri and Nsambya, on Arua-Pakwach highway saw the bus knock a motorcycle with umber plate UFW068Q, being ridden by Alioma Robert, now late, who was carrying Ozimati Philliam, all of whom are residents of Terego district.
The due were heading for work at around St. Peter’s church Awindiri.
According to Sunday Omirambe an eye witness, the rider crossed the road wrongly as the bus was on a high speed hence crushing the duo.
“The accident was caused by a boda-boda. The guy knowing very well that the bus was coming on a high speed, decided to cross the road. The driver wanted to control, but then he stopped. The motorcycle occupants then hit themselves on the bus. So, for us here we have seen there’s no problem with the driver. The problem was this boda-boda,” he explained.
Surundu Omega another eye witness also shared that, “I heard that his brother was going to do some work here in cornerstone so they were crossing the road from star clinic to cornerstone. After this boda boda he saw this bus from far, instead of waiting for the bus to pass, the guy just started to cross the road finally the bus crush them” Surundu said.
Onesmus Anguifibo brother to the two, in a telephone interview with radio Pacis confirmed that, as the two were being treated, the rider Alioma passed on at Arua regional referral hospital.
“The one who was a bit fairer was away from the rod. The one who was in crucial condition was on road completely. The leg got fractured completely. The doctor was telling us that that one was going to be taken to theater. They are all my brothers. The people at the hospital said they cannot handle Philliam’s situation, we decided to take him to radiology center for X-ray. The X-ray was done and they said that there’s no fracture but there’s a space in between the bones and the flesh so they are trying to give him some medication there.
After a while Onesmas made a return call to radio Pacis newsroom to inform that the brother Alioma Robert had passed on.
“As am talking now the one who was ridding called Alioma Robert has died,” he said in a telephone conversation.
