ONGOING PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN RALLY IN WEST NILE SO FAR PEACEFUL-POLICE

A report from the police in west Nile indicates that, the on ongoing presidential campaign rally by President Yoweri Museveni, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flag bearer is so far moving on well without any security related challenges registered.

In an interview with SSP Josephine Angucia, the police spoke person for west Nile she says, as security they have remained alert to respond to any emerging issues.
“He began in Pakwach, Nebbi and Zombo before coming to Madi okollo, then Arua city. So, from the time he has been conducting his campaigns in the region, we have not registered any serious cases of breaking the law or cases of indiscipline. People have been generally well polished and they are eager to hear from their head of state. At the police station we have not registered any cases to do with the failure to abide by campaign regulations or cases relating to campaigns “she said.

The police PRO appreciates the level of discipline exhibited by the public and appeals for adherence to the law and election regulations issued by the electoral commission.
“As the police, we are still going to continue cooperating with the sister forces to ensure that our personnel are deployed properly to for these campaigns and to ensure that they end successfully. We appeal to all the individuals who will be turning up for these campaigns at the different Venus to listen to the speeches, to abide by the laws of the country. You should abide by the laws of elections, campaigns and the road diversions,” Angucia appealed.

In west Nile, President Museveni has so far held his campaigns in the districts of Pakwach, Nebbi, Zombo, Madi Okollo, Arua district/city, Maracha and Koboko.
